Box Score OWINGS MILLS, MD – The York College men's tennis squad dropped a MAC Commonwealth contest at Stevenson, 6-3, on Tuesday afternoon in Owings Mills.
The Spartans fall to 4-10 overall while they are now 3-2 in the conference. The Green and White have lost three straight matches. The Mustangs improve to 5-7 overall and 4-0 in the league.
The Mustangs two the first two doubles matches earning an 8-5 first doubles win and an 8-2 second doubles win. The Spartan tandem of
Emmet Larson and
Ian Bartles outlasted Honour Zan and Dominic Duncan 8-6 in the third doubles match to get the Spartans on the board.
The Mustangs captured victories at first and third singles while the Green and White got wins at second and fourth singles.
Jason Lutz notched a 6-4, 6-1 second singles win over Sathwik Madasi while
Hayden Musser earned a 7-6, 6-2 fourth singles win as York trailed 4-3.
The Mustangs sealed the match with matching 6-2, 6-2 wins at the fifth and sixth singles matches to conclude their victory.
The Spartans close out their 2023-24 regular season on Saturday afternoon as they host Hood College in a MAC Commonwealth contest. A win for the Spartans secures a berth in next week's MAC Commonwealth tournament. The match is slated for a 1:00 pm start at the Myers Tennis Complex in York.
