How It Happened
The Spartans had the upper hand early on both ends of the field with three caused turnovers and a pair of saves through the first eight minutes while Zoe Kluegel and Madison Kurland put York ahead, 2-0.

The Sea Gulls scored late in the first quarter and started to turn the tide in the second as they took a 4-3 lead with 3:11 left before halftime. York answered right back on the ensuing possession with a Sydney Mentzer tally as the two teams went into the greek tied, 4-4.

Salisbury scored three-straight goals to start the third quarter and won four of five draws in the period to take a 7-5 lead by the quarter's end. The Sea Gulls suppressed the Spartans throughout the quarter as they owned an 11-4 shot margin, but Spartan goalie Bella Garabo came up with five saves in the quarter to keep the game within reach and Kluegel capitalized with a late tally to cut the margin to two tallies.

The two teams traded goals midway through the fourth quarter with Salisbury owning an 8-6 edge. Garabo came up with another big save just under four minutes to left to play, but the Spartans turned the ball over on their ensuing clear attempt which then turned into a Salisbury goal with 2:11 left which iced the game for the Gulls as they went up 9-6.
