ANNVILLE, PA – The York College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to former MAC Commonwealth rival Lebanon Valley on Saturday in Annville, PA.
The Spartans drop to 1-6 while the Dutchmen improve to 9-0.
The Dutchmen captured all three doubles points as they won the first and third doubles matches by identical 8-2 scores. The Spartan second doubles squad consisting of
Hannah Sult and
Maddi Haggerty made their match close as they fell 8-6.
The Spartans best showing in the singles match came in the first singles match up between
Elsa Oestermarker and LVC's Jacquelyn McBride. McBride won the first set 7-6 (7-1) before Oestermarker won the second set 6-2. McBride clinched the win with a 6-2 third set victory.
Bri Serruto had a three-set match in the third singles match as she fell to Sarah McComas 4-6, 6-3 and 6-3.
Eleanor Beck battled in the fifth singles match, dropping a 6-1, 1-6, 10-7 decision to the Dutchmen's Eliana Shenk.
The other three singles matches were decided in straight sets.
York returns to action on Wednesday afternoon as they host Ursinus College in a non-conference contest. The match is set for a 4:00 pm start.
