YORK, PA – The York College men's tennis team picked up their first win of the season as they downed Lancaster Bible College 8-1 on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at the Myers Tennis Complex in York.
The Spartans improve to 1-5 over all while the Chargers fall to 0-5.
The Green and White captured two of the three doubles points. The Chargers earned a first doubles win but
Ben Dorsey and
Jason Lutz earned a 8-1 second doubles win.
Emmet Larson and
Ian Bartles combined to post an 8-6 third doubles win to give York the 2-1 lead.
York cruised through the six singles matches as they won all the matches in straight sets. Dorsey earned a 6-4, 6-1 first singles win. Lutz notched a 6-2, 6-1 second singles win while
Evan Stehman rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 third singles win.
Hayden Musser posted a 6-3, 6-1 fourth singles win followed by a Larson's 7-5, 6-0 fifth singles win. Bartles closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 sixth singles victory.
The Spartans head out on the road on Saturday as they travel to Lebanon Valley College to face the Dutchmen in a non-conference contest. The match in Annville is set for a 12:00 pm start.
