Spartans Open Dual Season with Loss Outdoors at Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The York men's wrestling team opened the dual season with a 32-11 loss at Millersville on Wednesday outdoors at Cooper Park, home of the Marauder baseball program.

The Marauders won eight out of 10 bouts, but the Spartans scored bonus points in each of their two wins.

Jacob Grzybek put York on the board and tied the match, 6-6, with his late first period fall against Nicholas Cottone at 141 lbs.

The Marauders quickly rallied and jumped out to a 19-6 lead with three-straight wins 149, 157 and 165 including a pair of technical falls.

Josh Stahl pulled York to within eight points of the Millersville lead following his 16-0 victory over Mitch Bivona at 174 lbs. Stahl racked up three takedowns and six near fall points in a dominant performance from start to finish. The Spartan senior is now 6-0 on the season.

The Marauders finished the match strong by winning the last three bouts with bonus points.
