Men's Soccer Celebrates Senior Day with 3-0 Victory

Luke Nall scored twice for the Spartans as they earn their 13th win of the year

YORK, PA – The York College men's soccer team ended their 2024 regular season with a 3-0 win over Hood College on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in York.
The Spartans got a first half goal and then got two big insurance goals in the second half to win their third straight.
The Spartans improve to 13-1-5 overall and 5-1-1 in the Commonwealth. Hood's season comes to a close with a record of 4-12-2 overall and 1-6 in the league.

How It Happened
• The game was played in the middle of the field for much of the opening ten minutes. The Spartans broke through in the 14th minute as Owen Henderlite received a pass in front of the Hood bench just inside midfield. Henderlite held the ball and then flicked a pass along the near sideline to Noah Roche. Roche carried the ball down the near sideline, heading to the end line. Before getting there, Roche ripped a pass across the face of the goal. Luke Nall ran onto the pass and finished the chance for the goal and 1-0 Spartan lead.
• The Spartans continued to carry the remainder of the first half play as they out shot the Blazers 12-2 including 8-2 in shot on goal. York also had an 8-1 advantage in first half corner kicks.
• York came flying out of the half as they made it 2-0 just 1:22 in the second half. The Spartans drew an early foul on the Blazers. That foul led to a Spartan corner kick. Matt Zeiders hit the corner kick into the center of the box and Nall finished the chance for his second goal of the game. The Green and White continued to carry the play as the Spartan defense kept the Blazers from any dangerous opportunities.
• The Spartans capped the scoring in the 79th minute on a nice combination. Dylan Jablon played a ball to Henderlite who ran onto the pass before sending a centering pass to Shaun Apsley who finished the chance for the 3-0 Spartan lead.
• York finished the game with a 26-11 margin in total shots and a 13-6 edge in shots on goal. York had a 15-2 bulge in corner kicks.
