How It Happened
The Spartans had the jump on the Dutchmen from the opening whistle and racked up six shots in the first 16 minutes. York's pressure mounted to a Meg Kalthof tally in the 17th minute of play on her fifth shot of the game. Kalthof beat LVC keeper Camryn Porter low and to the right from 18 yards out after receiving a one-touch feed from Alyssa Russell.

York finished the first half with a 10-3 edge in total shots and a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks as both goalies made a pair of saves.

The Green and White kept up the pressure to start the second half and extended the lead to 2-0  in the 59th minute. The Spartans transitioned from defense to offense resulting in a tic-tac-toe finish from Morgan Joyce to Kalthof to Gabby Jennings who stung a low liner past a sprawling Porter for her second goal of the season.

The Spartans kept their foot on the gas and tacked on another tally in the 75th minute of play with Lexi Mazzella notching her first career goal. Carly Vincent started the play as she stole the ball off the foot of a Dutchmen defender and quickly found a streaking Mazzella up the middle who got past the last defender and banged inside the left post.

Down three goals, the Dutchmen did not go away silently as they scored twice in the final 20 minutes with goals from Abby Sedun and Abrielle Miller.
