LANCASTER, PA – The York College women's tennis squad rolled to a 9-0 win at Lancaster Bible College on Thursday afternoon at the Hempfield Rec Center in Lancaster.
The Spartans improve to 5-3 with the win while the Chargers fall to 1-8.
York cruised in two of the three doubles matches.
Elsa Oestermarker and
Brianna Rohrer posted an 8-1 win in the first doubles match.
Morrissey Walsh and
Eleanor Beck recorded an 8-0 third doubles victory for York.
Hannah Sult and
Bri Serruto had to grind out an 8-6 second doubles win to give York the 3-0 lead.
The Spartans earned straight set wins in all six singles matches. Rohrer and Beck each recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins at the fourth and sixth singles matches respectively. Oestermarker notched a 6-2, 6-3 first singles win followed by Sult's 6-3, 6-2 second singles victory.
Serruto recorded a 6-4, 6-4 third singles win while Walsh posted a 6-1, 6-2 fifth singles win.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday, March 25 as they kick off a three-match home stand with a non-conference match up against St. Mary's College. The match is slated for a 1:00 pm start at the Myers Tennis Complex.
