The Golden Wolves forced game three with a 4-1 win in game two but the Spartans were able to earn their second straight trip to the Commonwealth championship series with the game three victory.
York will head to top seeded Lebanon Valley next Friday to open the championship series in a rematch of last year's championship tilt.

York had a golden opportunity to get back into the game in the sixth as Austin Denlinger led off the frame with with a bullet double to left center. Joe Capobianco was hit by a pitch to put runners at first and second with no outs. Alvernia starter Jack Cossa buckled down and got a fielder's choice, a strikeout and a pop up to get out of the inning unscathed.

How It Happened
• York got on the board in the bottom of the first with a wild inning. Robby Elzinga opened the game by getting hit by a pitch. He moved to second on a wild pitch and to third on an Austin Denlinger single to center. Elzinga was out at home on a Joe Capobianco fielder's choice. Denlinger advanced to third on the play at the plate and scored a few pitches later on a wild pitch. After a ground out moved Capobianco to third, he scored on a wild pitch for the 2-0 lead. Andrew Santarpia then launched a solo homer to left to put York up 3-0.
• York added a run in the second as the Spartans loaded the bases only to have Capobianco draw a walk to score a run for the 4-0 lead.
• The Golden Wolves started chipping away at the Spartan lead in the third as Justin Ayala plated the first run with a sacrifice fly. Alvernia added another run on a Zach Rogacki sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth to cut York's lead to 4-2. Mike Ramundo scored Alvernia's third run with a third sacrifice fly in the sixth. York was fortunate the Golden Wolves didn't get more as Alvernia left seven runners stranded in the three innings in which they scored.
• Capobianco extended the Spartan lead with an RBI single to score Elzinga with York's fifth run of the day. The Green and White padded the lead in the eighth thanks to a two-out, two-run Elzinga single to right as the Spartan lead grew to 7-3.
