How It Happened
The Spartans won the game's first four draws and turned that into four-straight goals within the first six minutes of play with Anya Litofsky, Madison Kurland, Logan Ward and Kiersten Blanchard all finding the back of the net for York. With under five minutes left to play in the opening period, Jenna Cholowinski and Teresa Matthias scored 39 seconds apart to extend the Spartan lead to 6-0. Bella Garabo made a pair of saves in the final 15 seconds to preserve the first-quarter shutout as she stopped all four of LVC's shots on goal in the period.

York hit the Dutchmen with two more goals in the opening two minutes of the second quarter with Kurland and Blanchard finding twine once again. Garabo went on to make three more saves in the period before the Dutchmen finally broke up the shutout on a Brittany Hathaway free-position goal with 4:21 left. Bailey Dills tacked on another free-position tally moments later for LVC as the Spartans took a 9-2 advantage into halftime.

York scattered three unanswered goals through the first half of the third quarter with Cholowinski getting York to a 10-goal advantage, 12-2, with 7:24 left. The Dutchmen spoiled the running clock less than two minutes later with a goal to cut the deficit to nine and then tacked on another to make it an eight-goal game, 12-4, with 3:08 left in the third.

The Dutchmen would not score again after cutting the deficit to eight as a short-handed goal by Tiffany Lee with 18 seconds left in the third started a six-goal run for York to end the game. Lee would tack on another during that run and Zoe Kluegel led the way with a hat trick in the fourth quarter. McKenna Seashole made two saves in the final 62 seconds to help keep the fourth-quarter shutout intact for the Spartans.
