FREDERICK, MD – The York College baseball squad got a complete game effort from senior righty AJ Vincenzi as the Spartans defeated Hood 6-2 in MAC Commonwealth play on Friday afternoon.
The Spartans have now won three straight and five of their last seven heading into Saturday's regular season finale at home against Albright.

How It Happened
• The Spartans jumped on the Blazers early as Andrew Santarpia ripped a two-out, two run double to left center, scoring Austin Denlinger and Jack Barry with the game's first two runs in the top of the first.
• The Blazers sliced their deficit in half with an unearned run in the bottom of the third. York got that run back in the top of the fourth as Brendan Martin launched a solo home to left to lead off the frame.
• York put the game out of reach in the eighth. Denlinger singled to open the inning. He scored on a Joe Capobianco RBI double to center. Capobianco then rode home on a two-run homer from Barry to put the Spartans up 6-1.
• Hood got the final run of the game in the bottom of the eighth when Jacob Saylor had a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Keegan Brennan with the Blazers' second run of the game.
• Spartan starter AJ Vincenzi tossed his first complete game of his career as he scattered four hits with five strikeouts and one earned run allowed.
