YORK, Pa. - The No. 16 York women's lacrosse team could not overcome a 7-0 deficit to start the game in a 15-9 loss to No. 5 Franklin & Marshall at home on Wednesday night.

Chloe MacDonald led York with three points (2g, 1a) and led the team with six draw controls. Kiersten Blanchard had two goals and four draw controls, while Celly Arthur also chipped in with a pair of tallies.

How It Happened
The Spartans spotted the Diplomats a seven-goal lead to start the game including a 5-0 first quarter margin.

Kiersten Blanchard put York on the board midway through the second quarter as the Spartans limped to halftime trailing 9-1. F&M owned a 27-10 shot advantage and a 9-2 lead in draw controls at the midway break.

York flipped the script to start the second half. Celly Arthur scored 1:04 into the third quarter, followed by another Blanchard tally 38 seconds later which started a five-goal run for the Spartans as they cut the deficit to 9-5 just 4:30 into the half. Madison Kurland and Chloe MacDonald also had goals on York's 5-0 run.

York's momentum was suddenly wiped away as the Diplomats ended the quarter on a 5-0 run despite the Spartans owning a 4-1 advantage in draw controls during that span.

MacDonald tacked on another in the fourth, while Jenna Cholowinski joined the goal column and Tiffany Lee registered her first goal as a Spartan.
