ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – The York College men's tennis team traveled to St. Mary's City, Maryland to face the St. Mary's Seahawks in a non-conference contest. The Spartans are still in search of their first win on the year as St. Mary's registered an 8-1 win on Saturday.
The Seahawks improve to 7-2 overall while the Spartans fall to 0-3.
St. Mary's captured all three doubles points as they won the first doubles 8-2, the second doubles 8-1 and the third doubles match 8-3.
The Spartans' lone win came from
Evan Stehman in the second singles match as he outlasted Kier Nacua 6-7, 6-1, 10-6.
Hayden Musser played well in the sixth singles match as he fell to Liam Pratt 6-2, 4-6, 10-5. The Seahawks won the remaining four singles matches in straight sets.
The Spartans are set to open MAC Commonwealth play on Saturday, April 2 when they travel to Lebanon Valley College to face the Dutchmen. The match is slated for a 1:00 pm start in Annville.
