MIDDLETOWN, PA – The York College opened the spring portion of their 2022 schedule with an 8-1 non-conference loss at Penn State Harrisburg on Sunday afternoon in Middletown, PA.
The Lions improve to 2-3 with the win while the Spartans fall to 0-2. The loss snaps a five-match win streak against the Lions as York still leads the overall series 9-2.
The Lions captured all three doubles points but the second and third doubles matches were competitive with Penn State Harrisburg picking up a pair of 8-4 wins.
The Spartans lone singles victory came from
Ben Dorsey as he earned a three-set win over Andrew Schreck in the fourth singles match. Dorsey won 2-6, 6-3, 10-6.
The Lions took the remaining five singles matches in straight sets.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday, March 26 when they travel to St. Mary's City, Maryland to take on former CAC rival St. Mary's in a non-conference contest. Game time is set for 12:00 pm.
