How It Happened
  • With the dual score tied, 18-8, heading into the heavyweight bout, Messiah's Carter Urich clinched the victory for the Falcons with a 16-6 victory over Brock Hofler. Urich held a 7-1 lead after two periods, but then proceeded to run up the score in the third four takedowns as he went catch-and-release with Hofler down the stretch.
  • Camden Farrow set the table for the dramatic finish at heavyweight with a technical fall at 197 to even up the team score. Farrow had three takedowns and a pair of tilts through the first two periods before getting the match-clinching takedown 22 seconds into the third.
  • Jared Kuhns and Dalton Rohrbaugh spotted the Spartans a 10-0 lead out of the gates with a pair of dominant performances. Kuhns controlled Hutner Reinhart through the first period and then stuck the Falcon on his back 43 seconds into the second period. Rohrbaugh worked hard in the third to get the crucial bonus points for his team as he scored a pair of takedowns and a tilt for four and capped it off with the additional riding time point.
  • The Falcons quickly erased York's double-digit lead with back-to-back major decisions at 141 and 149. Messiah's Garrett Cornell held seventh-ranked Eric Hutchinson to just a 6-4 victory at 157, which proved to be ultimately beneficial for Messiah in the end as the Falcons went on to sweep 165, 174 and 184.
