How It Happened

• The Mustangs pushed out to a 26-14 lead thanks to an 11-4 run. The Spartan defense then kept York within shouting distance as they limited the Mustangs to just two points over the next five minutes. Unfortunately, the Spartans could only muster four points during the stellar defensive stretch as they trailed 28-18 after a
David Giuliani bucket with 4:50 left in the half.
• The offenses picked up in the final four minutes of the first half. Both teams managed to score 12 points as the Mustangs took a 40-30 lead to the break.
• York got off to a good start in the second half as they quickly trimmed the Stevenson lead to six at 42-36. York drew to within five twice over the next six minutes but the Mustangs were able to maintain the lead, pushing it back to ten at 55-45. York scored six straight to cut the lead to four at 55-51 with 10:06 left in the game.
• The Mustangs eventually increased their lead back to 12 over the next five minutes but the Spartans kept battling. York worked the lead back down to five at 73-68 on a pair of
Travis Stoll free throws. After two Stevenson free throws, Stoll again cut the lead to five with 1:15 left. Unfortunately, the Spartans wouldn't be able to get any closer as the Mustangs held on for a nine point win.
