Five From Men's Soccer Honored On All-MAC Commonwealth Team

YORK, Pa. - Five members of the Spartan men's soccer team were honored by the Middle Atlantic Conference as the All-MAC Commonwealth teams were announced by the conference office Friday morning.

Junior midfielder Luke Nall represented York on the First Team, while junior forward Jack Mitzelfelt, sophomore midfielder Cole Kendra, sophomore defender Gavin Bealer and senior goalkeeper Brady Bixler earned spots on the Second Team.

Nall is the only Spartan since 2019 to earn first-team honors and is the program's first-ever player to land on the first-team selection since joining the MAC Commonwealth. The junior had a breakout season as he set career-highs for points (19), goals (7) and assists (7) as the team's second-leading scorer. He paced the team with 10 points (4 goals, 2 assists) in eight regular season MAC Commonwealth games which ranked him sixth among the conference point leaders. He tied for the overall team lead with three game-winning goals and led the squad with two in conference games. He tallied the decisive goal in York's 2-1 win over fifth-seed Stevenson to deliver the program its first-ever MAC Commonwealth postseason win.

Mitzelfelt ranked fourth in the MAC Commonwealth in goals (10) and fifth among the conference point leaders with 23. The team's leading goal scorer became York's first double-digit goal scorer since 2013 as he enjoyed a fantastic breakout season. He scored a season-high three goals on just three shots in the 3-0 at Susquehanna. He tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals on the season, which includes the winning tally in the 89th minute at Stevenson for a critical conference win.

Kendra played a solid and steady role for the Green and White in the midfield. The sophomore started all 19 of York's games as he ranked second on the squad with over 1,300 minutes played. He recorded his first-career point with an assist in the win over Salisbury and tallied his first collegiate goal in the win at Albright as he finished the season with four points.

Bealer emerged as a regular starter on the Spartan back line in just his second season with the Green and White with 18 starts in 18 appearances. The sophomore helped York rise to the fourth-best scoring defense in the MAC Commonwealth with a 1.37 goals-against average on the year and played a role in five Spartan shutouts. Bealer recorded his first-career point this season with an assist in York's 2-1 win over Bridgewater (Va.) on Sept. 17.

Bixler stepped back into a starting role early in the season and ran with the opportunity all the way to an all-conference selection. The six-foot-four senior played a role in five shutouts on the season, including back-to-back clean sheets in the final two regular season games to help York clinch a conference postseason berth. Bixler ranked third in the MAC Commonwealth with a .742 save percentage as he made a career-best 72 saves on the season. He made seven saves on 17 shots faced in his season debut in a 1-1 draw at No. 14 Washington and finished the year with seven-plus saves in four different games. Bixler played a role in eight shutouts throughout his career and became the first Spartan keeper since 2013 to earn all-conference honors.

This group of Spartans led the program to its most wins (10) in the last three seasons and captured the program's first-ever MAC Commonwealth postseason win.
