Nall Tallies Twice as Spartans Blank Albright

Box Score READING, Pa. - The York men's soccer team picked up their first MAC Commonwealth win of the season with a 3-0 victory at Albright on Wednesday night.

Luke Nall scored a career-best two tallies, while Brady Bixler posted his third clean sheet of the season to lead the Spartans to victory.

How It Happened
  • The Spartans broke the scoreless tie in the 19th minute and quickly tacked on another three minutes. Luke Nall opened the scoring after receiving an assist from Niko Cornell. Cole Kendra tacked on another just moments later to swell the Spartan lead to two goals.
  • Nall extended the Spartan lead to three goals in the 59th minute when he pulled up from 31 yards out and hooked a shot over the out-stretched hand of Cooper Walters to the upper left corner of the goal.
  • Albright had a prime opportunity to get a goal back in the 65th minute, but an outstanding save by Bixler on an Albright free kick opportunity prevented that from happening. The Spartan keeper laid out to his left to stop a low line drive shot by John Villano from 30 yards out that leaked through the wall of the defenders.
  • The Spartans held off a fleury Albright corner kicks and shots in the final two minutes to collect their fourth shutout of the season.

The Spartans will travel to Mary Washington on Saturday for the second leg of a three-game road stretch.
