YORK, PA – The York College women's tennis squad closed out their fall season with a convincing 9-0 victory over Catholic University on Sunday in York.
The Spartans conclude the fall with a mark of 4-2 while the Cardinals fall to 2-3.
The Green and White won all three doubles points but in very different ways. The first doubles combo of
Elsa Oestermarker and
Brianna Rohrer had to win a tie breaker in their match, prevailing 8-7 (8-6). The second doubles squad of
Bri Serruto and
Hannah Sult cruised to an 8-0 win in their match.
Morrissey Walsh and
Eleanor Beck earned an 8-4 win in the third doubles contest.
The Spartans won four singles matches in straight sets and a pair in three sets. Oestermarker outlasted Brooke Simonson 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 in the first singles match while
Eleanor Beck earned a 3-6, 6-1, 10-3 three set win in the sixth singles contest.
Sult cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 second singles while doubles partner Serruto won 6-2, 6-3 in the third singles contest. Rohrer won the fourth singles match 6-2, 6-1 while Walsh concluded her fall with another win as she is now 7-1 overall in singles play.
The Spartans will release the spring portion of their schedule in November and will return to action in March.
