CAMDEN, NJ – The York College women's tennis team got back on the winning side of the ledger with a 6-3 victory at Rutgers-Camden on Saturday in Camden, N.J.
The Spartans improve to 3-2 overall while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 1-4.
Rutgers-Camden took early control of the match as they won two of the three doubles matches. The Scarlet Raptors won at first and second doubles while the Spartan tandem of
Hannah Sult and
Eleanor Beck got a win by forfeit in the third doubles match to get York on the board.
York took the lead in singles play as they got wins at first, second, third, fifth and sixth singles.
Elsa Oestermarker earned a win over Sarah Ahrens in the first singles match. Sult outlasted Samantha Hoban in three sets to earn the second singles win.
Bri Serruto picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Katie Moore in the third singles contest.
Morrissey Walsh rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 fifth singles win while Beck
won the sixth single match by forfeit.
The Spartans return home to close out their 2022 fall schedule on Sunday as they host Catholic University in a non-conference match up. The match is slated for a 12:00 pm start. Â
