CAMDEN, N.J. – The York College men's tennis team rolled past Rutgers-Camden 8-1 on the road on Saturday in Camden, N.J.
The Spartans level their record at 2-2 while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 0-3.
The Green and White got off to a great start as they swept all three doubles matches convincingly.
Tej Laliwala and
Evan Stehman combined to post an 8-2 first doubles win.
Jack Leinbach and
Ben Dorsey earned an 8-2 second doubles win and
Jason Lutz and
Hayden Musser cruised to an 8-1 third doubles victory.
The Spartans kept it going in singles play. Laliwala polished off Edward McWilliams 6-0, 6-2 in the first singles match. Stehman and Dorsey earned wins at third and fourth singles. Stehman notched a 6-1, 6-0 win while Dorsey flipped his score, winning 6-0, 6-1.
Lance Fries matched his Spartan teammates as he won the fifth singles match 6-1, 6-0.
Grant Haffner completed the match with a 6-2, 6-2 sixth singles victory.
The Spartans return home to close out their 2022 fall schedule on Sunday as they host Catholic University in a non-conference match up. The match is slated for a 12:00 pm start.Â
