How It Happened
  • Blake Shalbert helped stall the wave of momentum built up by the Colonels with a gritty performance in a loss at 141. The Spartan senior battled from behind most of the match and erased over two minutes of riding time. Shalbert was working on a tilt at the end of the third, but his opponent, Collin Rolak, was saved by the buzzer and escaped with a 2-0 victory.
  • Jared Bair got York on the board with a dominant performance from start to finish at 149 over Allen Kokilananda. Bair compiled five takedowns, including three in the final period, and racked up 4:30 in riding time in his bonus-point win.
  • Nick Paolucci set the pace early in his bout as he scored a takedown in the first minute against Liam Flaherty. Paolucci remained in control the rest of the way, scoring another takedown in the third and compiled 3:04 riding time to give York back-to-back wins.
  • Eric Hutchinson evened up the win count, 3-3, by completely dominating Ben Griffith at 165. Hutchinson scored a takedown in the first 20 seconds and proceeded to tilt Griffith four times on his way to a 18-0 first-period victory with over two minutes in riding time.
  • Kyle Strazdus put up a solid fight at 174, but did not have enough to overcome John DeVito. The Colonels then took a commanding 12-point lead with two bouts left as they received a fall from nationally-ranked Colton Babcock at 184.
  • Camden Farrow did his best to cut into the Wilkes lead with a major decision at 197 as he compiled two takedowns and two reversals against Hunter Lowe.

How It Happened
  • Jared Kuhns put the Spartans out in front with a strong performance at 125. Kuhns jumped out to a 6-2 lead at the end of the first period with a trio of takedowns and then closed out the bout with a reversal and a takedown late in the third.
  • Lycoming took their first lead of the dual with a pair of victories at 133 and 141. Wilfred Jimenez dropped a tight battle with Thomas Conselyea at 133. Blake Shalbert was forced to injury default eight seconds into the second period of his bout at 141 after reinjuring his knee. Shalbert was trailing 2-1 at the time of the stoppage.
  • Jared Bair put some momentum back in York's favor with his victory at 149. Bair set the tone with a takedown in the opening minute of the bout and extended his lead with a reversal in the second before sealing the win with a late takedown in the third.
  • Lycoming received a huge boost from Hunter O'Conor at 157. O'Conor trailed Nick Paolucci, 4-2, deep into the second period, but then scored a takedown in the closing seconds of the period. O'Conor then converted that takedown into a fall to put his team ahead by nine at the midway point of the dual.
  • Eric Hutchinson put York back on the winning path with a convincing win over Preston Rogers. Hutchinson compiled three takedowns and racked up nearly 2 minutes in riding time on his way to the bonus-point victory.
  • Gable Crebs pulled off a crucial victory over Camden Farrow at 197 to put Lycoming within striking distance heading into heavyweight. Crebs rolled to an 8-2 victory with three takedowns and earned the riding time bonus to snap Farrow's six-match win streak.
  • Nationally-ranked John Fulmer had his work cut out for him heading into the final bout as he needed a technical fall or fall to avoid going into a criteria tiebreak situation, but the Lycoming wrestler was up to the task. Fulmer was on top for nearly the entire first period and had Brock Hofler tilted twice, but the Spartan managed to get out each time. Fulmer started the second period on top and needed just 35 seconds to complete the fall and the dramatic come-from-behind victory for Lycoming.
