YORK, PA – The York College men's basketball team took the court for the first time since December 18 and they dropped a 78-61 MAC Commonwealth decision to Hood College at Wolf Gymnasium on Wednesday. The Spartans had not played a game in 25 days prior to tonight's league contest.

How It Happened
• The game was tied at six early 4:10 into the game. The Blazers got three pointers from Evan and Mason Wang to double the lead at 12-6. The Blazer lead quickly grew to 11 as Soren Almquist hit a lay-up to put the Blazers up 21-10 midway through the half.
• York clawed their way back into the game as
Mark Rachic hit a triple to draw the Spartans to within four at 27-23 with 5:16 left in the half. The Blazers answered with a pair of threes to push the lead back to ten at 33-23. The Spartans scored eight of the final ten points of the half to cut their halftime deficit to four at 35-31.
• York opened the second half with a
Riley Dobraniecki bucket to cut the Hood lead to two. The Blazers answered with a 16-3 run to open up a 50-36 lead just under seven minutes into the second half. Senior
Colin Rimel hit back-to-back threes to cut the Hood lead to seven at 57-49 but that would be as close as York got over the final ten minutes of play.
• The Blazers would build their lead back into double figures where it would remain the rest of the game. The Spartans ran out of gas at the end of the game as they had eight players dressed for the game and all eight players played double figures in minutes in the contest.

The loss snaps a two-game win streak against the Blazers as York still leads the all-time series 9-5 … the meeting was the first between the two teams in almost ten years as the last time they squared off was January 28, 2012 when York notched a 72-63 win en route to winning the 2011-12 Capital Athletic Conference championship … Blazer Mason Wang became the Blazer's all-time leading scorer with his three pointer with 11:24 remaining in the second half as he finished the contest with a game-high 25 points … senior
