YORK, PA – The York College women's swim squad opened their abbreviated 2021 campaign with a second-place finish in the 2021 Middle Atlantic Conference Virtual Relay Meet held this weekend. All the races were relay events with the 11 top finishers earning team points.
There were 11 schools that competed in the event held on each school's campus this weekend. The events were held by each school and the results compiled by the conference office.
The Spartans finished second with 200 points, just falling to Messiah as the Falcons finished with 214 points. Stevens finished third with 180 points while Misericordia placed fourth with 170 and Widener rounded out the top five finishers with 160 points.
The Spartans captured one win for the event as the 3x50 Butterfly relay trio of Alyssa Coon, Megan Kane, and Taylor Harper combined to finish the race in a time of 1:24.61.
Coon finished the day responsible for the highest point total for the Spartans as she was a part of relays that finished first, two seconds and two thirds which totaled 132 points. Harper was second at 100 points while Leilani Garcia and Maggie Stein were each a part of collecting 100 team points.

The Spartans are next slated to compete on Saturday, March 13 in another MAC virtual event. Saturday's meet is labeled as a Pentathlon Meet. The action is slated to kick off at 10:00 am at the Spartan Natatorium.
