Wrestling Goes 1-2 at Chocolate Duals with Win Over McDaniel

Jared Bair and Camden Farrow each go 3-0 on the day

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The York wrestling team compiled a record of 1-2 at the Chocolate Duals hosted by Messiah University at Middletown Area H.S. on Saturday. The Spartans opened the day with a runaway 27-15 victory over McDaniel before dropping a competitive match to Millersville, 27-17, and falling to Millikin, 37-6, to close out the day.

Top Performers
  • Jared Bair was one of two Spartans with a 3-0 record on the day and led the squad in team points (15) with a pair of falls. Bair finished off Jeovannie Martinez in the first period to help York sprint out to a 21-0 lead in an eventual 27-15 victory over McDaniel. He then stuck Clayton Reed early in the second period to claim one of four Spartan victories in the loss to Millersville. Bair used a big first period with a takedown and a tilt to claim a 7-2  win over Millikin's Jordan Carson.
  • Camden Farrow also posted a 3-0 record on the day. The senior opened the day with takedowns in the first and third periods on his way to a 6-1 victory over Jaedyn Harris to notch York's sixth victory against McDaniel in a runaway dual win. Farrow racked up a trio of takedowns including two in the third period to seal a 10-3 victory over Bruce Vaughan for one of four Spartan victories in the loss to Millersville. Farrow ended his day by holding off a late surge by Niles Ager to claim a 7-5 victory in one to two York victories against Millikin.
  • 14th-ranked Jared Kuhns 2-1 came out with a winning record on the day with a pair of bonus-point victories. The senior notched York's first victory of the day with a convincing 12-3 victory over Alex DuFour which started a run of four-straight Spartan wins against McDaniel. Kuhns then used a huge second period in which he scored 12 points to clinch a 16-0 technical fall over Millersville's Bryce Beatty. Kuhns had a good battle going late as he scored a takedown in the third period against Millikin's Tommy Russell, but ultimately fell 9-5 to the regionally-ranked competitor.
