How It Happened
  • The game started out with a back-and-forth pace and York spread around the wealth with four different Spartans scoring the first four buckets as York owned a 9-6 lead through the first six minutes of play. The Spartans eventually broke open some breathing room with a 20-13 lead at the midway point of the first half with Jackson Mascari leading the way with six points. The Spartans took advantage of a trio of Arcadia turnovers during that span which led to points on two of York's ensuing possessions.
  • The Spartans continued to hold the upper hand as the latter part of the first half unfolded. York eventually opened up an 11-point lead (31-20) with 2:46 left, which held up as the largest lead by either on the day with Travis Stoll leading the way with seven points. The comfortable margin was short-lived as Arcadia finished the half on a 10-4 run to cut the deficit to three (33-30) heading into halftime as the Knights shot a staggering 50.0% from the floor in the first half on 13 less attempts than the Spartans.
  • Arcadia kept the momentum rolling to start the second half and tied the game on a Gabe Kier three-pointer in the second minute of play. Stoll responded for York on the ensuing possession which sparked a 17-7 run by the Green and White, capped by a Matt Faller three-pointer, as York held a 52-42 advantage with 13:30 left.
  • York's comfortable lead was once again wiped away as the Knights went on to score six unanswered points which turned into a 14-2 run over the next five minutes of play as Arcadia took its first lead of the second half, 56-54, with 8:41 left to play. The two teams scrapped back and forth as the next five minutes unfolded and Arcadia had edged out to a one-point lead with just over three minutes left, but that would be the last lead the Knights would hold on the night.
  • The Spartans ended the game on an 11-0 run through the final 2:54 left to play. York stopped Arcadia on its final six-straight possessions as the Knights went 0-for-4 from the floor and 0-for-2 from the free throw line. York went just 2-for-2 from the floor during that span, but iced the game with a 7-for-8 performance from the charity stripe.

Notes
The Spartans are now 3-0 all-time against Arcadia since the first meeting took place in the 1985-86 season … York closed out the first semester 3-1 at home this season while Arcadia falls to 0-5 on the road … the Spartans snapped Arcadia's two-game win streak as the Knights began the season on a nine-game losing streak … both teams shot 45% from the floor on the day; York has shot 45% or better in six games and owns a 4-2 record, while Arcadia is 1-3 in games when shooting 45% or higher … Travis Stoll and David Giuliani have now landed in double-figures in each of the last three games … Riley Dobraniecki posted a career-best with 13 points on the day as he now has a pair of double-digit performances on the season … Jackson Mascari led all Spartans with 10 rebounds as now has two double-digit performances in his rookie season … Stoll's eight steals surpassed his previous career-best of four and now ranks as one of the top-three highest single-game performances by a Spartan in program history … he is tied for first in the conference this season with 28.
