GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• The Spartans got a pair of early layups from Katie McGowan but were then held scoreless for almost six consecutive minutes to stop an 11-0 run from the Gulls. Salisbury gave York a healthy dose of Megan Konig as she poured in nine of her game-high 19 points in the opening frame.
• The offensive struggles continued in the second as York was held without a field goal for the first 6:36 of the period before a pair of Victoria Varner jumpers, including a three-pointer, got the Spartans to within single digits. York trailed by just 9 at the half despite shooting 7-for-22 from the floor.
• The Sea Gulls opened the second half on a 12-2 run over the first 5:59 before Alana Bortner once again stopped the bleeding for the Spartans although York was now in a 17-point hole. York just could not get any easy looks and shot just 30% in the final two quarters and were unable to close the gap, eventually falling to Salisbury 67-48.
