YORK, PA – The York College women's basketball team won their fourth game in a row as they blitzed the visiting Lions of Penn State-Harrisburg and cruised to a 78-60 victory on Thursday evening.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Both teams got off to a slow start with each going scoreless in the first 2:23 of the game before a Meghan Carlson layup broke the ice. Kendis Butler for Penn State answered with a three-pointer. The Lions came into the game having shot the third most threes in the nation. The Spartans down 8-6 went on an 11-0 run the featured a trio of triples coming off the hands of Logynn Fuller and two from Lindsay Brown. York led 19-13 after ten minutes.

• The second period was all Spartans as the outscored the Lions 23-6 in the quarter. The Spartans opened up on a 16-0 run before the Lions hit a three-pointer after going scoreless for the first 7:31 of the quarter. York shot 50% from the floor in the first half and had a firm control of the contest up 42-19 at the break.

• The second half was a back-and-forth half with teams trading buckets but the Spartans never letting the Lions back in the game as the Green and White held at least a double-digit lead for the entirety of the final twenty minutes and York cruised to their fourth straight win 78-60.

The Spartans are now 10-2 all time against the Lions … York has now won four straight games and five of their last six … York scored a season high 78 points in the win after shooting a blistering 46% from the field … the Spartans also set a new season-high with 22 assists with seven different players recording at least one helper … four Spartans scored in double-figures in the win ... York grabbed 44 rebounds as a team in the win which is the second-most in a game this year only topped by their 46-rebound performance in their season opener … Logynn Fuller led the way with 17 points after going 3-for-6 from deep, she has now made three triples in her last three games … Kayla Ferris snatched a career-high tying 12 rebounds and was her second straight double-digit rebound performance and now grabs 6.3 boards pre game … the Spartans swept their three-game home stand and are now 6-5 at home on the season.
