GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• The Spartans came out firing early on the offensive end scoring six points on a pair of layups from Debria Hendricks and Kayla Ferris along with a pair of free throws by Katie McGowan. Salisbury then clamped down defensively and held York scoreless for around four and a half minutes before Hendricks ended the 8-0 run from the Sea Gulls with another lay-in. McGowan and Hendricks each added buckets in the final minute of the period and trailed 18-14 after ten minutes.
• The second quarter was a back-and-forth period until the Green and White broke off a 10-0 run to grab a 32-27 lead with 2:02 left in the half. A Sea Gull three ended the run but was answered by a three from McGowan and a layup from Hendricks to maintain the lead and go into intermission up 37-32.
• Salisbury came out in the second period with an 8-0 run and held York scoreless for over four minutes before a pair of McGowan free throws stopped the bleeding and tied the game up at 42-42. The rest of the third quarter was played closely by both teams with Salisbury's Megan Konig hitting a pair of free throws followed by a McGowan layup to take the teams into the final period deadlocked 51-51.
• The fourth quarter was dominated by the Gulls early as the opened on a 7-0 run and held the Spartan offense quiet with the first points coming over three minutes into the period and Salisbury built up a 60-53 lead. York cut it to as close as four but Salisbury took a grasp of the game and kept their distance from the Spartans by hitting 11 free throws in the fourth as the Green and White fell 73-65.

GAME NOTES
The Spartans are now 22-33 all time against the Sea Gulls … this is the second consecutive loss to Salisbury in the long series between long-time CAC foes … the Spartan defense notched their fourth straight game with double-digit steals as the grabbed 10 more in the loss … the 28 total rebounds for the Spartans was the third-fewest for a game this season … York shot 88.2% from the free throw line which was a new season high … Debria Hendricks had a career day as she scored a career high 20 points on career highs in field goals (8) and attempts (15) … Hendricks previous career high was 13 that came just over a year ago also at Salisbury … Katie McGowan continued to be a scoring force tying her career high 25 points that she had set last week against Penn-State Harrisburg … McGowan also tied a career best 10 made free throws which she last did against Frostburg last February … this was the third straight 20-point game from McGowan as she is averaging 24.3 points per game over that stretch … the Spartans have now lost four straight road games with their last win coming on December 8, 2018 at Lancaster Bible … they are now 3-5 on the road on the year.
