How It Happened:
• The Blue Jays wasted very little time in getting on the board as Lauren Scheib scored on Elizabethtown's first shot of the game, 3:54 into the match. Grace Hardy played the ball to Scheib at the near post and Scheib tapped home the ball for the 1-0 lead.
• York had a stretch of strong play during a six-minute stretch in which they had five corners and four shots but they wouldn't be able to convert those into a goal.
• After three more penalty corners late in the first half, the Spartan finally got on the board with 2:20 remaining in the opening stanza. Junior Greta Plappert collected her own rebound and put home a shot on the left post for the unassisted goal. It was Plappert's third goal of the year.
• The Spartans outshot the Blue Jays 9-5 in the first half while they also held a 9-2 margin in penalty corners. Unfortunately for York, they would not be able to turn those stats into an advantage on the scoreboard, which would prove to be the Spartans' second half downfall.
• Elizabethtown got the game-winner with 12:30 left in regulation as Hardy collected a rebound off a Brooke Zehr shot and poked home the rebound for the go-ahead goal. The goal came with the Blue Jays down a player due to a green card.
• The Spartans' final chance came when Lindsay Nye ripped a shot that was saved by Margo Dolin as the Green and White dropped their third one-goal loss of the year. York's last five games have all be decided by one goal.
