How It Happened
• The Spartans had the first great chance of the game as sophomore All-CAC forward Zion Friday hit the post in the game's 23rd minute. After Friday hit the post, York's Isiah Dorsey had a shot cleared off the line by Eastern's Jared Wisdom to keep York off the board.
• Eastern got the only goal they would need in the 34th minute. The Spartans committed a foul in the box and Cade Harmon converted the penalty kick for the 1-0 Eagle lead.
• The Green and White fired off five straight shots after the goal but Eastern goalie Ben Lochstamphor was up to the task with a trio of saves as York was held off the board.
• Eastern looked to build on the lead early in the second half but York's Billy Bridegum recorded a pair of early saves. The Eagles looked like they were going to extend the lead to 2-0 but junior Malcom Djiki cleared the ball off the line in the 69th minute as he made a nice play to keep the Spartan deficit at one.
• York's last best chance came in the 83rd minute but Lochstampfor made a sprawling save inside the left post on a well placed shot by Dorsey. York got a corner kick in the 89th minute but the Eagles cleared it quickly to preserve the win.
