How It Happened:
• It only took the Spartans 2:15 to crack the Seahawk defense when Greta Plappert rebounded her own shot pushing the ball passed the goalkeeper giving York an early 1-0 advantage.
• The York offense continued rolling at the 15:29 mark as Emily Shilling passed the ball towards the far post and Sam Collis was on the spot and slapped the pass into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.
• With only 57 seconds remaining in the first stanza, the Spartans earned a penalty corner and Julea Truskey and Dana Meehling picked up assists on the play to find Greta Plappert who picked up her second goal of the half and giving York a 3-0 lead into the break.
• York added one more goal halfway through the second half when Emily Shilling placed a sharp-angled shot into the far corner of the goal off a pass from Mathilde Govers and the defense held strong anchored by six saves from Sam Keating to earn the 4-0 conference win.
