• The Spartans pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 15th minute as Lindsay Nye tossed a long outlet to Mallory who finished off the opportunity just inside the right post for her second goal of the game.
• Mallory made it a natural hat trick in the 32nd minute as she scored another goal with another assist from Paige Taylor. Mallory collected the pass from Taylor, spun and fired in a shot from six yards out giving York the 3-0 lead.
• The Blue Jays outshot the Spartans 6-5 in the first half but all five of York's shots were on cage while just one of JHU's six shots were on target. The Spartans held a 4-0 margin in penalty corners in the first half.
• The Spartans appeared to be content to sit on their first half advantage. The Blue Jays got the only goal of the half with 9:51 remaining in the game as Princess Sutherland one timed a Grace Hillman pass into the goal from the wing to get the hosts on the board.
