How It Happened
• The Spartans, following their six-goal outburst against Shenandoah on Saturday, struck early, in just the 2nd minute when Greta Plappert took a Paige Taylor feed and put York ahead 1-0. In the first 11 minutes, the Spartans unleashed six shots, picking up right where they left off just two days ago.
• In the 13th minute, York's hot offense struck again. This time, it was Taylor doubling the lead while Autumn Mallory was credited with the assist.
• The Spartans had nine shots and two goals before Susquehanna was able to register a single shot. The River Hawks' first came 25 minutes into the game. But, after getting one shot off, Susquehanna quickly added a flurry of them, but Eve Hauptle was up to the challenge, fending off two of them before the halftime break.
• York kept pouring the shots on net in the second half. In a span of two minutes, they forced two penalty corners, and managed three shots. The Spartans couldn't muster a third goal in the sequence, but through 50 minutes, had outshot Susquehanna 24-3.
• The River Hawks had a slew of chances around the 55th minute, taking three shots and two corners in a matter of a minute. Hauptle made a save, Taylor Glass made a defensive save, and the Spartans fought off the danger, with their 2-0 lead intact.
• Hauptle and the Spartan defense completed the shutout, their second of the season, to cruise to a 2-0 road victory over the River Hawks.
