How It Happened
• The Spartans got off to a roaring start as they led 22-5 a mere 7:25 into the game. Seniors Dalton Myers and Matt Scamuffo fueled the run as Myers tallied nine points while Scamuffo hit a pair of threes.
• Scamuffo pushed the lead to 28 with a three pointer with 6:01 left as York led 39-11. The Bullets cut the lead to 22 on a pair of Nick Lord three pointers but York ended the half on a 10 run to push the lead to 32 at the break. York's run was powered by Blayde Reich as the senior forward notched six points as the Green and White took a commanding 52-20 lead to the break.
• The Spartans reached 50 points at the half for the third time this year as they are averaging 54 points in the first half so far this year. York shot 57.1% in the first half while they held Gettysburg to just 20 points, their best defensive half of the campaign. The Green and White held the Bullets to just 26.7% shooting from the floor in the half.
• The Spartans maintained their lead between 27 and 32 points over the first ten minutes of the second half. The large lead enabled head coach Matt Hunter to substitute liberally, giving his entire bench another opportunity for quality minutes. The Bullets would cut their deficit to 19 with 4:43 left in the game before York settled for the 24-point win.
