HOW IT HAPPENED

 • Dickinson jumped all over the Spartans early as they dominated the first 15 minutes of play. The Red Devils got on the board a mere 3:42 into the game as Taylor Bednar scored off a Cheslea Kramer assist.

• The Red Devils made it 2-0 exactly 10 minutes later as Kramer scored off an Amber Dey pass on a corner play as the hosts looked like they were going to put the Spartans away early.

• The Spartans were outshot 6-0 in the first 15 minutes of the game as they didn't even get into the Dickinson defensive third of the field.

• The Green and White started climbing back into the game after head coach Kaitlyn Hamilton called timeout to settle the Spartans. York took their first shot of the game at the 15:12 mark and proceeded to fire off the next three shots of the game as they started to find their footing.

• York finally found the back of the cage when Nye struck for her first goal at the 25:28 mark. Ali Posey (Airville, Pa./Red Lion) played a ball off a corner. She flopped a shot towards a goal that Nye redirected for the goal, her first of the year.

• Nye made it 2-2 just 2:28 before the half as she finished off a chance on a loose ball to knot the game prior to the half.

• After being outshot 6-0 in the first 15 minutes, York turned the tables and held a 12-4 margin in shots in the final 20 minutes of the half.

• The Red Devils recaptured the lead 8:32 into the second half as Danielle Schwab recorded an unassisted goal, giving Dickinson the 3-2 lead.

• Nye recorded her third goal of the game just under six minutes later as she made a nifty move to beat Dickinson goalie Freddie Bancroft for the tally.

• Nye struck for the fourth time, tying current assistant coach Jayme Goldkind's school record of four goals in a game, six minutes later as the Green and White pushed ahead for the first time in the game. Nye captured a turnover deep in Dickinson territory and converted the chance to put York on top.

• The Red Devils stepped up their pressure in the final 15 minutes of the game as they pushed for the equalizer. They finally were able to push the tying goal across the goal line when Dey fed Kramer for Dickinson's fourth goal with 4:58 left in regulation.

• Neither team got any sustained offensive push in the final four minutes as they headed to overtime with a heavy rain storm on the radar to the west.

• Dickinson had the first good chance in overtime but Taylor Bednar's shot was blocked. York turned that chance into a fast break as Nye finished the chance after Bancroft came out to challenge the attempt. Nye's goal came 1:05 into the overtime period.
