How It Happened
• The two teams went back and forth early in the game with both teams having opportunities in the first 45 minutes. York's best chance came when Corie Elliott (Laurel, Md./Delmar) had a break away opportunity with less than five minutes left in the half. Elliott carried the ball into left side of the box. She unleashed a shot across the face of the goal but the shot slid wide of the far right post for a goal kick.
• The Green Terror out shot York 6-5 in the first half as both teams had a pair of shots on goal.
• The Green Terror broke the scoreless tie in the 55th minute as Katie Clawson headed a corner kick to the foot of Christina Wroblewski and she finished off the chance for the first goal of the game. The tally was Wroblewski's first goal of the year.
• McDaniel added to the lead just over 16 minutes later as Abby Keen converted a rebound into a goal as the Green Terror took a 2-0 advantage with just under 20 minutes left in the game.
• York would not get any offensive push in the final 20 minutes as they attempted just one shot in that period of play.
