Box Score YORK, PA – The York College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to visiting Franklin & Marshall College on a blistering hot and humid Saturday afternoon in York. The Spartans were making their first home appearance of the 2016 after playing their first two games on the road last weekend. The game was a part of the 2016 York College Spartan Classic.

How It Happened:
• The first half was scoreless as the Spartans outshot their guests 9-1 including 4-1 in shots on goal. The Spartans had entered the game averaging 3.5 goals per game after their impressive offensive performance last weekend. F&M goalie Nicole Savidge recorded four first half saves to keep the Spartans off the board.
• F&M would get the only goal of the game in the 49th minute as Reanna Leoni struck a strong shot from 25 yards out that found the upper left 90, giving the Diplomats the lead. The goal was Leoni's third of the year.
• York would continue to pressure the Diplomat defense but the Spartans would be unable to finish any of their quality chance in the scoring area.
• Savidge earned her first shutout of the year as she made a career-high seven saves en route to her second career clean sheet.

The Spartans are now 2-9 all-time against the Diplomats as F&M has won three straight against the Green and White … the Spartans are now 12-8-1 in home openers in the 21-year history of the program and have lost two straight home openers after winning three straight previously … the Diplomat goal was the first allowed by the Spartans this year as they opened the year with a scoreless streak of 228:31 … McDaniel outlasted Kean 1-0 in the tournament's opening round … the tournament is being played for the first time since the 2006 season.
