Box Score YORK, PA – The York College women's basketball team saw their nine game Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament win streak come to a halt as the Eastern University Eagles won the tournament championship Saturday with a 64-51 win over the Spartans in York. The Spartans had won the last four Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament titles. York shot just 25% from the field in the loss as the Eagles won their third straight to open the season.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• The Eagles got on the board in their first possession as Amanda Riiff hit a three pointer from the wing just 11 seconds into the game. They scored the first six points of the game to seize the early lead.
• The Eagles pushed their lead to eight at 18-10 on another Riiff three pointer with 1:55 left in the first quarter. Eastern led 18-11 after the opening period.
• Eastern's Taylor Price hit a three pointer to open the second quarter scoring as the Eagle lead grew to 10. York cut their deficit to five twice but the Eagles bounced right back, pushing the lead to 13 at 31-18. That would be York's largest deficit in three games. The Eagles took a 34-23 lead to the intermission. It's the first time York has trailed at the half in three games.
• Eastern's lead vacillated between seven and 11 points during the third quarter as York could not gain any offensive traction as they continued to misfire on the offensive end.
• York made a run at the lead early in the fourth quarter as they trimmed the Eastern led to four at 48-44. Unfortunately, the Eagles answered the Spartan spurt with a 9-0 run, pushing their lead to 13 with 3:48 left in the game.
• Eastern would push the lead to as high as 17 before settling for the 13-point win.

The Spartans' last Coaches vs. Cancer loss came in the 2011 championship game when the Spartans dropped a 74-61 decision to nationally ranked William Paterson … York is now 15-5 in the ten editions of the tournament … Eastern's Emily Lavin earned the tournament MVP honors while Amanda Riiff also earned all-tournament team honors for Eastern … York placed Sam Hruz and Sam Mocniak on the all-tournament team … the Spartans' 25% shooting effort was their lowest shooting percentage since February 24, 2011 against Marymount, a CAC semifinal game, a span of 146 games … ironically, the Spartans won that game against Marymount 37-32 … Sam Mocniak's five three point field goals tied her career high, initially set against Penn State Harrisburg on January 28, 2015 … York was outrebounded by 12 in the game, their largest rebounding deficit since February 13, 2016 when the CNU Captains out boarded York by 17 caroms … Eastern led the entire game.
