How It Happened

• The Spartans carried the majority of play in the first half but had nothing to show for it. The Spartans got an early shot from Joel Teston but Lion goalie Brandon Hoover made the stop.

• Freshman forward Keith Witherell struck a solid header in the 21st minute but he hit the post, keeping the game scoreless.

• York outshot Harrisburg 5-1 in the first half and 2-1 in shots on goal. The Spartans also had a 3-1 margin in corner kicks.

• The Spartans had a pair of good shots in the opening eight minutes of the second half. Nathan Bilbie had a shot from just outside the Spartan box but his shot was just on the wrong side of the post to the right.

Matt Freibaum then had a great chance in the 52nd minute as he dribbled into the box but his shot was stopped by Hoover to keep York off the board.

• Freibaum had a second great chance seven minutes later as he drove into the box a second time and Hoover was again up to the task as he stoned the Spartans to keep the game scoreless.

• The Lions broke the scoreless tie in the 84th minute as Creasy Lopez hit a cross across the face of the goal. Victor Weaver collected the pass and banged home the shot to put Harrisburg on top. The goal was Weaver's fourth of the year.

• The Spartans last chance to tie the game came in the 86th minute as Teston's header skimmed over the cross bar on a great look for the Spartans.
