How It Happened
• The Seahawks climbed on top of the Spartans early. The Seahawks fired off the game's first shot just 2:51 into the game. That shot was saved by Spartan goalie Charlie Johnson, however, the Spartan senior keeper wouldn't be able to get the second shot. Nick Tait struck a long pass from the left. The Seahawks' Khalid Balogun got the pass on the run and struck a shot past Johnson for the game's opening goal 3:47 into the game.
• The Spartans were staggered but not knocked out as they bounced back and battled the Seahawks the remainder of the half.
• St. Mary's held a 12-9 advantage in first half shots while they also had a 5-4 margin in shots on goal.
• The Seahawks pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 59th minute as Balogun and Tait teamed up again. This time, Balogun struck a pass to Tait who chipped a shot over Johnson from 10 yards out for his 11th goal of the year.
• The Spartans spoiled the shutout in the 86th minute as York drew a foul in the box. Senior Matt Freibaum converted the PK for his fifth goal of the year.
• The Spartans would get a Jordan Evans shot in with 2:38 left in regulation but his show was wide. That would be the final shot of the game for York.
