Waynesburg, Pa. The Spartans, who are now 3-7 overall, fell to

Yellow Jackets 27-13 in the nightcap.
In the opener with Baldwin-Wallace, the

as the Spartans trailed 20-4 heading into the 184 pound bout where
York's Alex Martocello (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller
Place) earned a major decision to bring York to within
20-8. Baldwin-Wallace closed out the match with victories at 197
pounds and heavyweight to provide for the final 26-8 margin.
Against the Falcons, Jerrid Hartman
(Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) and Alex Paladino
(Magnolia, Del./Caesar Rodney) opened the match with
back-to-back major decisions to put York up 8-0. The Falcons got a
tech fall, three straight major decisions and a win by fall to
forge a 23-8 lead with three weight classes left. The Spartans

would not be enough as York fell by five points.
The Spartans got in the win column in their
final match of the day. The Yellow Jackets jumped out to an early
lead but the Spartans got wins from Paladino at 133 and
Aaron Formanek (Owings Mills, Md./Pine-Richland)
at 141 to take the 6-4 lead. The hosts got wins in the next three
weight classes to take a 13-6 lead but the Spartans stormed back to
record a win in each of the final four weight classes to pull out
the 27-13 win. Paul Richards (Hermon,
Maine/Hermon) notched an 11-4 win at 174 followed by a
Martocello win by fall at 184. John
