York College head women’s lacrosse coach Jen Muston is happy to announce that Gena Speights has been named the new Spartan full-time assistant women’s lacrosse coach starting in July 2025. Speights replaces for York standout Nicky Clauter who stepped away for other professional opportunities.
Speights comes to the Spartan program after spending the 2024 and 2025 seasons as the graduate assistant coach at Goucher College. She was responsible for assisting in all aspect of the Gopher women’s lacrosse program. Speights led the Gophers draw control unit as they totaled 250 draws in 17 games, good for an average of 14.71 draws per game. She was also very active on the recruiting trail for Goucher, a task she will be deeply involved with for the Spartans.
Prior to Goucher, Speights was a standout performer at Division II Millersville University where she was a four-year letter winner for the Marauders. Speights was a two-time All-PSAC selection during her Millersville career. She finished her Millersville career with 102 points on 84 goals and 18 assists in her 51 career games. Speights started 42 contests and totaled seven game-winning goals, 77 ground balls, 176 draw controls, and 39 caused turnovers.
