Women's Swimming Win Streak Snapped by UMW

YORK, PA – The York College women's swim team had their four-meet win streak snapped on Saturday as the University of Mary Washington Eagles downed the Spartans 196-66 in a Capital Athletic Conference meet in York. The Spartans are now 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

Senior Justine Wantz continued her outstanding campaign with two more wins while she was also a part of two runner-up relay teams. Maggie Stein also had a good day with a second and two third place finishes during the meet.

Justine Wantz – 100 Back (1:00.23), 200 Back (2:12.97)


Second Place Finishers

Maggie Stein – 50 Free (25.22)  


Third Place Finishers

Maggie Stein – 200 Free (2:01.53), 100 Free (55.83)

Sydney Davidson – 100 Breaststroke (1:09.34)

Colleen Mahoney – 500 Free (5:33.26)


Top Three Relay Finishes

200 Medley Relay (Justine Wantz, Kristin Bria, Alyssa Coon, Maggie Stein): 2nd (1:52.37)

200 Medley Relay (Caitlin Campbell, Sydney Davidson, Julia Trudel, Adrianna Ayala): 3rd (1:55.13)

200 Free Relay (Justine Wantz, Adrianna Ayala, Caitlin Campbell, Kristin Bria): 2nd (1:43.25)



Senior Justine Wantz now has a team-leading nine individual wins while she also has one second place finish … Wantz has also been a part of five relay teams that have top three finishes … Wantz's time of 1:00.23 in the 100 back is the top time in the CAC in the event this season.
