Women's Soccer Set to Travel to Mary Washington for CAC Championship Match

YORK, PA – The York College women's soccer team will play in its seventh and final Capital Athletic Conference championship match on Saturday as the Spartans travel to third-seeded Mary Washington to face the Eagles in the conference title game. Both teams arrived at the championship game thanks to semifinal upsets. York bounced top-seeded Salisbury 2-1 while the Eagles blanked second-seeded Christopher Newport 1-0.

The Spartans and Eagles split their two regular season meetings with the home team winning each match up. The championship match is set for a 2:00 pm start in Fredericksburg.

The Last Time We Met

The Eagles earned a 2-1 win in Fredericksburg in the regular season finale for both teams. The Eagles opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a Brielle Mitchell goal. The Spartans tied the game with a Rachel Wilhelm goal in the 56th minute. Brooke Bauman recorded the game-winner just over four minutes later to give the Eagles the win, and ultimately, the advantage over the Spartans in the CAC tournament seedings.
