Spartan Women Record Clean Sheet in Second Straight Road Win

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – The York College women's soccer squad captured their second straight road victory with a 1-0 win over St. Mary's College on Wednesday night in St. Mary's City, Maryland. The Spartans swept the two regular season games against the Seahawks.

How It Happened:

• The Spartans carried the play early in the match as York fired off the first seven shots of the match. The sixth match was taken by Moriah Morton and saved by St. Mary's keeper Audra Haines. The ball rebounded to the feet of Erin Baier who banged home the shot for her third goal of the year. The Spartans continued to pressure the St. Mary's defensive third but wouldn't be able to get another goal as they settled for the 1-0 halftime lead. York outshot the Seahawks 8-1 including 2-0 in shots on goal.

• The second half was much of the same as the Spartan offense continued to play in their offensive third. Despite the York dominance on offense, Haines kept York off the board in the second half as she recorded seven second half saves. York had six second half corner kicks and nine shots but failed to score in the half.
