Women's Soccer Drops Fourth One-Goal Defeat

CENTER VALLEY, PA – The York College women's soccer team dropped their fourth one-goal match of the year as DeSales University recorded a 3-2 non-conference win on Saturday in Center Valley, PA. The Spartans fall to 1-4 as all four of their losses have come by a single goal.

How It Happened:

• The Bulldogs came out firing early as they notched three shots in the first ten minutes of the game. DeSales finally found the back of the net on their fourth shot of the game as Katie Padgett scored off an assist from Meghan Corbran in the 20th minute of play.

• DeSales made it 2-0 just 2:52 later as Rachel Medlar scored off a Meghan Foley helper to put the hosts up a pair.

• The Spartans got on the board 20 seconds later as Skyler Wilt took an initial shot that was saved. The ball squirted right back to her as she finished off the second chance to put York in the scoring column.

• York knotted the game at two just 1:37 before the half as Natalie McCarthy scored off a loose ball in the box. It was her second goal of the season.

• The Spartans were outshot 9-6 in the first half but Spartan goalie Cat McCarty kept the Spartans in the game with five saves. York had the lone corner of the first half.

• The Bulldogs broke the tie in the 69th minute as Allie Trick took a pass from Sam Monteforte and notched her fifth goal of the season.

• The Spartans had a shot in the final 20 seconds as Ally Badman got a shot on goal. It looked like the Spartans got a goal off the rebound but it was called back as York suffered their fourth hard-luck loss of the season.
