Bio Final
In the 2026-2027 school year, Coach Birkir Jonsson is entering his 6th season at the helm of the Spartan men’s and women’s swimming programs. Jonsson led the Men’s Swimming program to a second place finish at the conference tournament last season. On the women’s side, the program had its first NCAA All-American.

  • Had the first conference men’s swimmer of the year since 2016
  • 18 top finishes at the conference championships

Women's Swimming

  • Trained the first All-American in program history 
  • Back-to-back Conference swimmer of the year 
  • 19 top-three finishes in conference championships in five seasons
Program Milestone Final

Men's Swimming

  • Undefeated (10-0) in dual meets during the 2025-2026 season
  • 2025-2026 was the highest finish in program history at the MAC Championships (second place)
Women's Swimming
  • First All-American in program history, placing sixth at Nationals in the 100 breaststroke
  • Six events competed at the NCAA National Championships (Three in 2026 and 2025)
