#8 Spartans Open CAC Tournament on Saturday vs. Southern Virginia

YORK, PA – The York College women's lacrosse team embarks on their 2019 Capital Athletic Conference tournament voyage on Saturday afternoon as they host Southern Virginia University in the tournament's quarterfinal round. The Spartans are the second seed in the seven team tournament while they are also ranked eighth in the country. The Knights are the tournament's seven seed and are making their second trip to York in 15 days.

The Spartans and Knights will be meeting for the first time in the CAC Tournament. The Spartans are 6-0 all-time against the Knights including a 20-3 win earlier in the year.

LAST TIME WE MET

The Spartans rolled past Southern Virginia 20-3 on Friday, April 12 at Kinsley Field. Junior Devin Hursey set the career assists record in the game, breaking the record of Spartan great Kim Wayson. In the win, freshman Celly Arthur led the way with two goals and three assists. Baleigh Bradley and Hursey each had a goal and three assists for the Spartans. Caitriona Knowles led the way for the Knights as she had a pair of goals, a ground ball and a caused turnover. Megan Barfuss scored the other goal for the Knights.
