Spartan Men Conclude Fall Season on Tuesday

YORK, PA – The York College men's tennis squad saw their 2018 fall season come to a close with a 6-3 setback against Goucher College on Tuesday afternoon in York.

The Spartans lost both doubles matches that were contested on the day as Goucher won the first and second doubles match. The Spartans on the third doubles match by forfeit.

The Spartans' lone singles win came from senior Sam Innerst as he earned a 5-7, 6-3, 6-0 win over Elliot Diehl in the second singles match. York also got a win from Tyler Richard in the sixth singles match as he won by forfeit.

The Spartans have lost four straight matches against the Gophers … York's last win against Goucher came on September 20, 2014 … York lost the doubles points for the first time this season as they entered the match sporting a combined doubles record of 17-1 … senior Sam Innerst improves to 6-1 for the fall campaign with his victory … junior Ben Sentz dropped his first singles match of the fall … York finished the fall with a combined singles record of 30-12.
